Chef-owned since 2016, from omakase-style nigiri to Latin-Japanese signature rolls, voted Best Sushi in Miami twice in 2026, and rated 4.9 on Google. Everything you want to know before your visit.
Sushi KONG is an award-winning, chef-owned Latin-Japanese sushi restaurant at 3000 Coral Way in Coral Gables, Miami. Since 2016 we have been serving traditional Japanese sushi technique with bold Latin flavors: traditional nigiri and sashimi, omakase-style tastings, signature rolls, Ni-tan tacos, fusion tapas, weekend brunch, sake cocktails and some of the most talked-about desserts in Miami. We hold a 4.9-star rating on Google.
Miami diners voted it that way twice in 2026. Sushi KONG won Best Sushi – Readers’ Choice in the Miami New Times Best of Miami® 2026, and it was crowned champion of The64 “Best Sushi in Miami” tournament (January–February 2026), a public-vote bracket of 64 Miami sushi restaurants. On the way to the title Sushi KONG advanced past Nobu Miami, Zuma Miami, Uchi Miami and OMAKAI Sushi.
Sushi KONG has been run since 2016 by its owner and executive chef, Javier Zamora. Before opening Sushi KONG he spent more than 10 years in kitchens across Latin America, working with restaurants that led their markets. That background is the heart of our Latin-Japanese style. After all these years he still personally guards several of the secret recipes behind our signature rolls, sauces and desserts, which is why many of our dishes cannot be found anywhere else.
Sushi KONG is independent and chef-owned, not a chain or a hotel concept. Every roll mixes Japanese technique with Latin ingredients you won’t see in a typical sushi bar: tamarind glaze, mango and passion fruit, sweet plantain, guacamole and jalapeño. Add house-made sauces, desserts made in our own kitchen, and the warmth of a neighborhood restaurant, and you get a place locals keep coming back to.
Yes, that is how many guests describe it. Sushi KONG sits away from the tourist strips in Coral Gables, with its own private parking and a quiet terrace, yet it beat some of Miami’s most famous sushi names in public votes in 2026. Many Miami food creators visit and share it on their own, simply because of its reputation.
Yes. Alongside our fusion rolls we serve classic, fresh sushi: nigiri and sashimi of salmon, tuna and hamachi, and the Nigiri Fiesta, a chef’s selection of nigiri. Traditional sushi lovers and fusion fans can share the same table. See the menu.
Yes. Order the Nigiri Fiesta, an omakase-style selection of nigiri chosen by the chef, or ask your server to let the chef guide you through an omakase-style tasting of the freshest fish of the day. It is a relaxed, neighborhood way to enjoy omakase in Coral Gables, without the formality or the price of a tasting counter. Reserve a table.
Rice is the soul of sushi, and we treat it that way. Our sushi rice is prepared with obsessive care every day, seasoned and kept at the right temperature so every nigiri and roll holds together and tastes balanced. Our fish is selected for freshness, and the cuts that go into our nigiri and sashimi are the stars of the plate.
Start with the signature rolls: Miami Lover (tuna, kakiage, avocado and cream cheese, topped with tuna tartar and tamarind glaze), Mango Tango (crispy white fish topped with mango and passion fruit glaze, served with ceviche), Havana 305 (smoked salmon, krab and sweet plantain), Romeo & Juliet and the spicy Mexico Lindo. Then share the Ni-tan tacos and finish with KONG’s CheeseCRACK. See the full menu.
Ni-tan tacos are Sushi KONG’s take on the sushi taco: two non-traditional hand rolls served taco-style, with guacamole, tuna tartar and salmon tartar on sushi rice and crispy nori. They are one of our most-photographed dishes.
KONG’s CheeseCRACK is our famous crispy fried cheesecake, served warm with ice cream and our homemade Nutella. It is one of the dishes guests come back for, and one of the most shared on Instagram.
KONG’s Choco-Dubai is our Dubai-style chocolate dessert: a homemade crepe filled with artisanal dulce de leche and premium pistachio cream. It is exclusive to Sushi KONG.
Sushi KONG is known as the “House of best desserts in Miami”. The favorites are KONG’s CheeseCRACK, KONG’s Choco-Dubai and the Chocolate Kamikaze, all made in our own kitchen.
It means classic sushi technique (fresh fish, sushi rice, nori, hand rolls) combined with flavors from Latin America and Miami: tamarind, mango, passion fruit, sweet plantain, guacamole, jalapeño and ceviche. You will also find Latin and Asian tapas, wok dishes and soups like our Asian Chupe.
Our bar mixes classics with a sake twist, like the Mojito with sake and a Moscow Mule made with sake and fresh grated ginger. See the full drink list on the menu.
